Updates for the week!

Alright, Christmas is over and I’m sure many have a great time. Instead of having a feast or party, I spent my Christmas on the computer and completing some Gunpla projects of mine. 😀

I did bought some new kits, the HGAW Gundam X and the HGUC Acguy. Those two are awesome kits that I cant miss. I wanted to get the the SD 00 Qan[T], the Standard Brave or the Bearacgguy but only the Brave was in stock, so I decided to pass it on for now and go for the X and the Acguy.

I’ve already finished the Acguy and I’ve to say it’s a pretty damn good model. Being a 2007 model, it’s amazing to see that there are inner frame for the limbs and a mono-eye that can go anywhere you want. Although not much polycaps are used for this model, it stood up pretty well and there are no loose joints so far. The ball joints connecting the arms are VERY stiff and it could be quite a pain to exchange these arm pieces. ^^;

But still, the features and looks of the Acguy are still really awesome. With this Acguy in my hands, I already looking forward to get the Bearacgguy next! 😀

Now for some “mod” projects of mine, here’s the Proto 0 Gundam I’ve been working on. Still left with some minor cleaning up and a nice flat coat and the model’s done. 🙂

So yeap, that’s pretty much the Proto 0 Gundam. I’d be doing a full post on it pretty soon. 😀

Other than the 0 Gundam, I’m also working on another antagonist suit to go along with my 00 Gundam II, Cherudim Stealth, Seravee Kai, Astrea Type F2/M and the Proto 0 Gundam, and that’s the Gadessa! 😀

I decided to add some green accents to allow it to have some colour differences with the orignal Gadessa. I also added Throne Zwei’s trademark Buster Sword and Beam Saber onto this guy. Everything is looking pretty good right now, just some cleaning up will do. ^^;

Anyway this has been one of my “forgotten” project for quite some time but I finally managed to get around and complete it just yesterday. I might be doing a full post on it and its backstory like the 0 Gundam but that can wait. ^^;

Alright, that’s pretty much all for this post.

Till the next post! 😀

Random shots of Operation V!

I won’t be doing a review of the operation V set anytime soon, so as the title says, here are some random pictures of the Operation V set, not including the legendary RX-78-2.

Hah, I was just snapping shots of the Guntank and Guncannon, together with the little Core Fighter while the precious RX-78-2 is kept away in the display cupboard. And well, I thought I should share some of the pictures here too.

I intended to do a proper and nice paintjob on the CoreFighter but the White paint I have doesn’t really work that well with me. you can see cracks in the paint here and there and well, it was only after I thought I finished painting and assembled it then I realised that I missed out a part to paint. Geez, that sucks.

I also applied the decals provided onto all the kits except the CoreFighter and then flat coated them. I didn’t really follow the instructions given on the applying of the decals but the end results look really good to me. 😀

So yeap, that pretty much does it for this quick update. I might do a review if I have the time which I don’t think I have any.

Anyways, I’m currently working on the Zabanya which my friends bought for me during my birthday sometime ago, thanks guys! 🙂

Till the next post! 😀

Alright, it’s been sometime since I completed a Sangokuden model of mine. This time round, I’ve finally completed the SD Shin Ogarasou KanU Gundam from the Brave Battle Warriors series. I got this awesome kit for only 3 bucks as I had a voucher then. Together with some painting and detailing, this SD kit would definitely stand out from your entire SD collection! 🙂

For me, I decided to do some minor changes to the colour scheme, particularly the red. I didn’t have the red colour that the kit came molded with so I decided to go on with Russet for all the red parts and I think they look really well. The darker red also goes along the intermediate blue I applied on Ryusou Ryuubi and the two look really great together! ^^;

For the gimmicks of this kit, the demon mask is able to be place a slot down to cover up the face. KanU would always do that when he goes into battle, but for me, I refrain from doing so as it would scratch the paint job. ^^;

The giant halberd is different from the previous KanU in terms of design, and yeah, there isn’t any effect parts this time round. The “tail” on the backpack and the shoulder armour can be removed and placed on Ryuubi to form the Awakening Trinity Formation. However, I decided to keep both kits in thier original state as I still do not have ChouHi yet. I’m also thinking of getting the upcoming Awakening Trinity Boxset too, so I can display these SD kits in all thier glory, and prevent scratching the paint of the regular ones.

One stone kill two birds!! Haha 😀

Another thing that I would like to point out is the foil stickers that the kit came with. I think this is a common theme for Brave Battle Warrior kits, where all of them have different stickers for the eyes. I think it’s kinda pointless since many people would just use one of them, usually the standard looking straight ones, and leave the others in the box forever. But still, it gives people some options as well. ^^;

Lastly, I couldn’t help but to take a picture of the two brothers together. I can’t deny that the two look awesome together there!

For my final thoughts, I think that this SD kit is defintely a must grab is you are into the Sangokuden series. Being one of the main character is already a reason to get this kit. What’s more, the model looks really great if you take the time to paint it. Like any SD kits, they might not have awesome articulation or stuff, but with some patience and paint, you can get them to look really well and this also challenges your painting skills.

I do have to admit that there are some flaws and mistakes this time round like a tiny spill of paint here and there. My paintjob isn’t really perfect but I’m satisfied and glad that I finished the model! 😀

Moving on from KanU, I did bought some new stuff yesterday. I was actually going to collect my HG Beginning Gundam and HG Gundam Harute at Hobby Point yesterday but I only saw the Beginning on the shelves. Despite that, I wasn’t dissappointed, and was instead, looking for the new kits that just arrived. I saw lots of kits that I’m dying to get like the HGUC “Alex”, HGUC Delta Plus, HGUC Hi-Nu, HG Raphael and some SD Stuff. I was caught in a dilemma and while I was deciding which to get, the HG 00 Raiser Condenser Type and the  HGUC Hi-Nu GPB colours popped into my mind too.

Raphael would definitely be in my list without any hesistation, but I couldn’t decide which model to get next. As, I was pacing around the shop I saw…!!!

The giantic, legendary, awesome, epic boxset of Operation V! I’ve been wanting to get these 3 granddadys for quite some time already but I rarely see them around but I finally managed to get them all now in one! 😀

And I’m not lying, these 3 models are indeed LEGENDARY! Another holy grail in the hands of mine! ^^

I think I’m starting to get into HGUC once more. The Delta Plus is really attractive but the Sinanju and Gouf Custom are blowing me away with thier awesomeness. But still, I’m leaving some $$ for my 00 models, like Harute and the Braves etc. And for Beginning, I guess he still gotta sit on the shelves for quite some time for now. ^^;

And well, I can’t just let Operation V steal all the limelight here. Here’s Raphael Gundam. Awesome kit, definitely a must buy for 00 fans like me. I would be building Zabanya first I guess. Harute would be coming but not in the near future. ^^;

Whew, with so many kits on my wanted list, I doubt many of them would make it to me. But still, you can’t deny the awesomeness of the upcoming kits, regardless of  the grades or series. Bandai is defintely going all out again!

So yeah, that does it for now..

Till the next post!

I’m at full speed!

Alright, so I’ve already finished building about 4 and a half kits from my birthday loot if you include the incomplete Stark Jegan and the Action Base 1. ^^;

Anyway, progress is pretty fast for me during this few days maybe because I’m in the “GO BUILD GUNPLA” Mode! I’d finished the HG Astraea just now, and it’s looking really awesome. I completed the HGUC GM Type- C on Saturday and the SD Clear set on Sunday. I decided to start on this few kits first as I kinda refrain myself from using too much paint or thinner and yeah, these kits I’ve done are very simple and straightforward to build, with the exception of the Astraea. ^^;

Anyway, back onto paint and thinners, I don’t wanna use them too frequently as the fumes they produce are kinda harmful. Tamiya paints are esecially so, with the huge warning label. Mr Color paints are okay as it states age 8 and above but I still refrain from using them too frequently. As for thinners and top coats, I would only use them when there’s really a need to do so. And while using all these items, I would be really careful too and even wear masks ocassionally. So yeah, to young modelers out there, do take notice of these items. 🙂

Alright, back to the main topic, I’ve given the Astraea a flat matt coat and it turned out really well! Here are some pictures to fill you guys in.

Another Astraea into my Astraea collection! LOL! 😀

Now, for the clear set featuring the SD 0 Gundam and Exia R2, I managed to finish them smoothly. But I still find them stiffer than the original ones, maybe due to the different plastic used this time round.

Lastly, for the GM Type- C, it turned out pretty nice as well. The frame and jonts used  this GM Type- C was pretty smooth and solid despite lacking a huge amont of polycaps. And well, this kit basically reused a lot of parts from the Powered GM as far as I can see. ^^;

And now for my current project, here’s the upper body Stark Jegan with some weathering done to it. I actually started on this before the Astraea, but I had a sudden urge to complete the Astraea so I started work on it last midnight and continued and completed the Astraea just now. 🙂

Looking good so far. Will be working on it as soon as possible.

Anyway, other than working on Gunplas at such high speed, I’ve done almost half of my holiday work already. I hope to finish everything by Thursday or Friday and then start work on another kit, maybe the HG 00 Qan[T] or the massive giant Ryuubi. I’d see about that.

So yeap, that’s all for this short update..

Till the next post! 8)

BMKWC Entry WIP- Part 3!

So I’m sick and spent the last 2 days resting at home, and well, I’m fine now 🙂 Anyway, besides preparing for my exams, I did make some progress on my BMKWC Entry last 2 days. I had an idea to kitbash the O Gundam and while doing so, another idea popped up into my head regarding my Cherudim Steatlh and I worked on it immediately.

So basically, what I did was just to glue the Dynames GN Pistol Holders onto the back vulcans which I previously attached. I always find those back vulcans to be pretty small so I decided to add something on there. And well, it turned out pretty well to me, just left with some messy spots that needs to be cleaned.

And now, the Cherudim Stealth is finally equipped with 2 GN Beam Pistols, even though those are Dynames’s pistols, and maybe you can include Astraea as well, they look pretty good on the Cherudim too. ^^ Glad I got those in my extra parts box. 8)

Another thing I added to Cherudim’s weaponary is the GN Cannon that Seravee has on its back and knee. I inserted the handle from Arios’s GN Double Beam Rifle into the polycap, and it turned out pretty well! However, I think I might wanna do something about the hollowness at the back.

That cannon is look pretty good in Cherudim hands. ^^

So yeap, that’s pretty much all about it for this short modification I made to the Cherudim Stealth. And well, the deadline for the BMKWC is in November, guess I gonna be quicker now. ^^

Anyway, that’s it for now..

Till the next post!

P.S. O Gundam’s kitbashin’ was pretty successful. Another project on hand now. ^^;

BMKWC Entry WIP- Part 2!

Alright, so here’s the second part of the work in progress for my BMWKC. And for this part, I would be showing off the work I’ve done so far on my 1 Gundam.

But before that, I would like to share with you guys my hunt for the HG 00 Qan[T]! The HG 00 Qan[T] is at the top of my “to-buy list” currently, and defintely one of my holy grails. In fact, I’m thinking of grabbing two of them after seeing all its gimmicks and stuff even though I feel that its a little over priced.

And well, I got news yesterday that the HG 00 Qan[T], SD Enjutsu Zssa, SD Gurensou SouSou and the SD Mokousou Sonken have arrived at many Comics Connection outlets last Friday. So I took a trip down, hoping to grget the kit as soon as possible. Indeed, there was the 3 new SD kits but not the 00 Qan[T]. So I pondered for a moment and decided the grab the Zssa guy together with the Ryusou Ryuubi instead. However, I was not allowed to purchase the Enjutsu Zssa since its release date should be on the 5th this month. In fact, all the four new kits are not purchasable until the 5th. And for the 00 Qan[T], the guy kept it somewhere but not the 3 SD kits. The person offered to reserve the kit for me but I decided to pass it on and get it somewhere else instead. ^^;

So yeap, I’m pretty dissappointed but well, I guess a little SD kit is better than nothing, what’s more, it comes with a free trading card. Haha!

I’ve been wanting this guy for quite some time already and I thought it’s about time to grab it to add on to my collection of Ryuubis! 🙂

Really nice illustration of Ryuubi there on the card. So yeap, together with a english translated manual, I thought that the $13.95 was well- spent.

Oh and now I realised that I still have loads of SD kits unbuilt!! Oh well, I’m gonna start on them later on after finishing my work and stuff. ^^;

Alright, on with the progress on my BMKWC entry..

I finished building the kit last week together with some minor paint jobs. I painted the GN Condensers with clear orange and underneath it is a layer of gold for a better finish.

And well, like the Reborns Gundam I have, I broke the same knee piece again! This is the second time I broke the same spot while testing out the knee. The peg is really too weak to handle and it would break very easily so look out for that. And well, I decided to do some battle damage effects and weathering on the leg yesterday.

i’m pretty satisified with the knee damage but I think I still gonna work on the weathering on the feet.

I did some battle damage on the arms too, especially on the shoulders. Still need some improvements there though. ^^;

That’s pretty much what I did on the 1 Gundam so far. I’m still holding on my Cherudim as not all the materials I need have arrived yet.

So yeap, that’s all for this post.

Till the next post!
